Veterinary Practice Management
Early in her adult life, Nickie began breeding and training dogs specializing in Golden Retrievers. Starting in obedience and field training, she quickly changed direction. Realizing conformation and conditioning more closely matched her passion, she showed several purchased Golden Retrievers successfully; then breeding and owner-handling her first champion (she bred).
Two decades later "Sammy" finished her championship out of
the bred-by class, and received an invitation to the Eukanuba Invitational in
2008. Sammy is a 4th generation owner bred champion.
Nickie also shows
Clumber Spaniels, English Cocker Spaniels, English
Springer Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, and several other breeds.
In addition, Nickie uses her intuitive insight for animal care and health
concerns.
Success Philosophy
One of her primary philosophies in business and dog training, is
clearly and
consistently
articulating to the
dog and/or employee what is expected. This enables the BEST potential for
a successful relationship, as long as the dog or employee has the appropriate
desire to learn and succeed.
Veterinarians should focus on what
increases their profits, success and services v.s. the management
of employees, information systems and marketing issues.
Many policies, guidelines and decisions are difficult for an employee to manage
because of the relationships, emotions and personal problems that arise and are
advisable to outsource.
